Kyle B. Ebeling

Director of Design and Engineering | Origin Acoustics LLC

Wielding a passion for overcoming obstacles and expertise in devising innovative solutions to tackle complex challenges, Kyle B. Ebeling has excelled in his role as the Director of Design and Engineering at Origin Acoustics LLC, a major Las Vegas-based manufacturer of the finest loudspeakers, electronics, and accessories. He served as General Manager of Ambisonic at the company for four years, through which he oversaw daily operations, from initial design to production and assembly, before a promotion to his current position in 2025. In this capacity, he drives design and product innovation across all brands of Origin Acoustics. Among his myriad responsibilities, he interfaces with clients, dealers, and distributors on large-scale projects; finalizes design layouts, integration, controls, and platforming; designs custom products; oversees fabrications teams; establishes standard operating procedures for quality and timely project fulfillment; manages the build process; and develops new, design-centric technology geared toward customers.

Throughout his time at Origin Acoustics, and his previous role as the Director of Manufacturing Engineering at James Loudspeaker LLC, Mr. Ebeling has established a strong reputation within the industry for creating unique, innovative designs. As a result, he is frequently sought out for projects deemed unfeasible by others. As a lead engineer on several pioneering large-scale projects, he introduced small-aperture speakers into various commercial applications, successfully demonstrating their effectiveness despite initial skepticism. One of his significant innovations was the creation of a speaker-light combination, which gained recognition when it was installed in a luxurious super yacht owned by a prominent Las Vegas casino owner. Currently, he is involved in a groundbreaking project that focuses on integrating speakers capable of withstanding the extreme temperature fluctuations encountered in climate-controlled snow rooms. This emerging trend in home design presents unique challenges for electronic components, for which he is conducting research on thermal treatments to ensure durability and performance. Most significantly, he installed an outdoor audio system at the White House Rose Garden tennis court, which he described as a pinnacle moment in his career that he never expected when he started selling and designing speakers.

Mr. Ebeling first gravitated toward the audio industry while a student at Napa High School, where he coached water polo and swimming. One of his junior Olympic diving students was the daughter of Mark Schaeffer, the president of James Loudspeaker. Already interested in design, leading to studying welding technology and visual design at Napa Valley College, he was invited by Mr. Shaeffer to wield a custom project. He found himself captivated by the process. Equipped with Associate of Science degrees in welding technology and digital design and drafting from Napa Valley College, he was hired full-time at James Loudspeaker, where he served as a manufacturing engineer, from 2013 to 2015, before a promotion to manufacturing engineering manager, a role he held from 2015 to 2018. He was active as the Director of Manufacturing Engineering there from 2019 to 2020 before joining Origin Acoustics.

Most recently, Mr. Ebeling bolstered his credentials by returning to school and earning a Bachelor of Engineering and Engineering Management from Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University in 2024. Looking ahead, he strives to continue his education further with experienced mentors in the field, particularly Tom Harrison, Origin Acoustics’ acoustic engineer and loudspeaker design engineer. He wants to expand his knowledge base in acoustics and loudspeaker design so he can build products intentionally the first time rather than constantly chasing improvements after market release. In addition, he plans to adopt new prototyping technologies, such as 3D printing, and expand his manufacturing processes—with the ultimate goal of quadrupling the size of his team at Origin Acoustics to bring more U.S.-based manufacturing back to the country rather than outsourcing.

In his spare time, Mr. Ebeling enjoys traveling with his family—which includes his wife, Melissa, and their two children, Ellie Mae and Billy Joe—hiking with his dogs, playing softball and disc golf, and tinkering with electronics and programming.
